He has also been in contact with the structural engineer who worked with the plans for the house. Specific issues that continue to concern the board include the weight of the tile roof, lack of handicap access from the upper floor to the ground floor exits, lack of fire sprinklers, and inadequate parking.
Old-growth sequoias on the property are showing signs of not being properly cared for. Helen will research what can be done to protect these trees. AJ will call Urban Forestry to see what help they may be able to provide. A motion was approved to pay up to $200 for an inspection to determine the current state of the health of the trees. New BusinessA motion was approved to elect Denise as a Member-at-Large. She will serve as the board’s Crime Reporter.
Hippo Website Hippo, a data management company, expressed interest in working with Parkrose Heights. The board does not feel this is something that is needed at this time.
A motion was approved for Andi to apply for a $1000 grant for Parkrose Heights to host a movie night in Knott Park in July of 2011. AJ and Denise agreed to co-host this event. Additional planning will be dependent on whether the grant is approved.
A motion was approved for Parkrose Heights to partner with Woodland Park and Hazelwood neighborhood associations to sponsor an additional Movie in the Park event on Wednesday, July 13, 2011. Parkrose Heights’ partnership involves donating $25 and the potential of 1-2 volunteers to help at the event, but no one from the board was able to commit to putting together a family-friendly activity for this event.
