Call to Order: 7:10pm by President Carol Williams Present: Carol / Stephanie / Becky Absent: AJ / Andi / Eric / John Guests: Erin Levine / Jim Murphy The minutes for March were approved as read. Treasurer’s Report – Carol Balance on hand is $2500.10. (John was absent due to injury.) New Business Appointment of New Board Members Jim Murphy was appointed to fill one of the open Member-at-Large positions. Erin Levine will be eligible for appointment to a Member-at-Large position at the May board meeting. 2010 Neighborhood Cleanup Carol reported that Glenfair volunteered to sponsor a neighborhood cleanup event. It will be held on May 15th from 9am-1pm at the TriMet Park & Ride Lot located at 122nd & Burnside. Parkrose Heights has been invited to participate. Anyone interested in helping should email Carol. Kiosk – Materials for Maintenance This will be revisited at the May meeting when Andi is available. National Night Out (NNO) Stephanie provided an update on what has been accomplished and what still needs to be accomplished in preparing for this year’s NNO, which will be held the first Tuesday in August. An ad will be coming out in the East Portland mailer. Carol noted that approximately $600 in Communication Fund monies is still available for use for receipts turned in by June 20th. Bayer Property Carol noted that this property is soon to be incorporated into Knott Park. Neighborhood kids are still trespassing on the property, which is a liability due to the presence of broken glass, nails, etc. Prior Business Plaid Pantry on Halsey A follow-up meeting was held on April 5th at East Portland Neighborhood Office (EPNO). One local business competitor attended the meeting to voice dissent. However, it appears that Plaid Pantry has been given approval to continue moving forward with their plans to occupy the property at 1017 NE 117th Ave. Board Reports It was noted that participants in the evening adult program held at the Head Start campus are dropping large quantities of cigarette butts on the corner, which is a health hazard to local children and pets who may pick them up. It was suggested that this activity be reported to the school district for resolution.
